Tree Removal Aberdeenshire
Unfortunately there will always be trees growing in inappropriate locations. So tree removal services can often be required. Even if they start a sensible size for the area, they can outgrow spaces quickly. Sometimes in very destructive ways.
Often there will be trees which self-seed in the crevices of a wall, guttering, close to building foundations, we even see them in chimneys. While we can try very hard to limit the damage of an unfortunately placed tree through pruning and management. Sometimes there really isn’t anything else that can solve the problem except its complete removal.
At Epic Tree Care we have invested in a lot of highly specialised machinery. Tailored to help make the removal process as safe, clean and efficient as possible. Operated by our experienced and knowledgeable tree surgeon Aberdeenshire and Moray.
We have our own Grapplesaw mounted lifting system, allowing us to reach over an obstruction or building in awkward spots. Automatically cutting off a large piece, and lowering it to a safe drop zone for processing. No people in harms way, very low hazard and very low mess.
Our Merlo 40.30 telehandler with attached GMS Grapplesaw makes light work of even the most complex tree removals.
If the location doesn’t work for the big machinery, we also have smaller lifting aids like a minloader and arb cart, to keep the heavy lifting minimised still. Our guys are very experienced and our climbers are used to working with, and without kit. Giving them the experience to tackle any tree confidently.
Tree Removal in Small Spaces
If the location doesn’t work for the big machinery, we also have smaller lifting aids like a minloader and arb cart, to keep the heavy lifting minimised still. Our guys are very experienced and our climbers are used to working with, and without kit. Giving them the experience to tackle any tree confidently.
One of the aims for the business, was to do this in a way that is non-harmful for the staff that work with us. There is very little manual timber handling. Although historically tree work was terrible for many tree surgeons physically, due to moving timber, wearing good people’s bodies very early! However with our machinery doing the lifting, we can keep our staff working safely and in good health much longer. No wincing as you watch them lift logs!

Tree Removal Methods and Planning Arrangements
There are a huge array of different methods used in tree removal. The method involved is primarily based on the surroundings of the tree, condition and species.
- One of our highly skilled and qualified forestry team fells the tree in a controlled manner. Often winch assisted for additional safety.
- Climbers may go into the crown of the tree, to dismantle. Lowering sections individually usually, avoiding objects or structures.
- For a unusually large, health compromised trees, awkward space, or high volume of removals it may require the Merlo. With its grapplesaw for automated removals for additional safety or efficiency.
- If even the Merlo isn’t going to cut it due to the location, we can also use Crane Dismantles.
- If your site is on a busy roadside, we may need traffic management.
- Power shutdowns may be required if the works are in close proximity to power lines.
