Flexible bracing is the other, more common form of bracing. Using specially designed ropes and attachments to support weak tree branches and stems. Flexible bracing must be installed at the correct point above a tree’s weak point. Flexible bracing can be installed either as a tethering system or a limiting system. Tethering systems are designed to catch a branch in the event of failure. So it doesn’t cause damage to houses, greenhouses, gardens, driveways etc. Therefore limiting systems are designed to reduce the movement of a weak branch or stem, reducing the chance of it splitting.
