Tree Pruning Services
You may find that tree pruning is required to ensure your trees size or shape is maintained and overall look is tidy. At Epic Tree Care we have significant experience with a vast variety of trees. Both big and small, deciduous and evergreen. So if you are looking to maintain them in their best health, you can trust our tree surgeons in Aberdeenshire and Moray to so safely, efficiently and with attention to aesthetics and your end goal.
We will check whether your tree is protected by a Conservation Area or has a TPO, letting you know if there are any limiting factors to any works. Occasionally there will be tree protection orders, which will limit the pruning and require additional paperwork. This is not a problem, just something to bear in mind when planning.
We are, as should all professionals, fully insured against any eventuality. Epic Tree Care holds Public Liability Insurance to £10 million, as well as employee liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance. All staff are fully qualified and experienced. Copies of NPTC City and Guilds Certificates, and Insurance Documentation available here, as is our Waste Carriers licence.
The main part we like to focus on however is not the technical aspects, such as which pruning techniques we can use. Our expert team will engage with you directly, spending time understanding what you really want and why. Because often, our advice will change drastically depending on what your final goal is. At Epic Tree Care we provide tree advice in Aberdeenshire and Moray as part of our inspection service.
Tree Pruning Aberdeenshire

- Keeping a variegated species from reverting.
- Encouraging fruit.
- Keeping branches from interfering with structures or BT lines.
- Or any of the other myriad reasons that exist for pruning trees.
Trees in the wild need very little help. However maintenance is often the best route where they grow in the vicinity of buildings or public spaces. Which can sometimes lead to us carrying out tree removal in Moray and Aberdeenshire, should they be left unattended.
If you like your trees and do not ultimately want to end up having to remove them, a little management can keep them happy and healthy for a significantly increased timeframe.

This offer is a decision made carefully because our teams work hard. We never want to get it wrong by making an uninformed decision, simply because no-one had the conversation. So we spend time understanding our clients needs before getting started on any project.
We also spend a not insignificant time on the clean-up (when required!), because we know that you, our customer, has highlighted over and over that this is an important part of this process for you.
Good quality tree pruning is not cheap and we want to make sure you feel you are getting value for your money. Viewing your green spaces with a smile on your face after the work is complete. Otherwise we simply have not done our job properly.
Our team also offer a variety of hedge services, keeping your green space looking well kept and maintained.
Tree Pruning Standards
At Epic Tree Care, we try very hard to keep our tree pruning works within the British standard for tree work (BS3998 : 2010). Meaning that any work you receive will be planned against the British standard of tree care. Designed to keep Britain’s trees healthy and happy.
It is worth mentioning that the British standard does not allow for lopping and topping. This is actively discouraged due to the negative effect it can have on trees. However, there are a variety of approved techniques which can be used to manage the size of your trees. These techniques are less harmful and allow the tree to keep more of its natural shape and growth habits. We work very hard to inform and advise of the best ways to treat your trees with kindness. Helping them perform their myriad functions in your life for as long as possible. Whether that is bird feed hanger, green backdrop, or statement feature for the garden.
As a company, and as people, we care for the trees which are put in our charge. And for the customers who trust us to help them make the correct decisions regarding such a precious resource!
We operate with £5 million Public Liability Insurance and £10 million Employers Liability Insurance.
